Abu Dhabi has once again been named the safest city in the world, reaffirming its position as a global leader in safety and liveability
According to the latest Global Liveability Index from the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) for 2024, the UAE's capital has not only maintained its top rank but has also solidified its status as the most liveable city in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
This recognition comes as no surprise, given Abu Dhabi's impressive score of 88.2 points on Numbeo’s Safety Index, a testament to its commitment to ensuring the safety and security of its residents. The city also boasts an incredibly low Crime Index score of just 11.8 points, underscoring its effective crime prevention measures.
Beyond safety, Abu Dhabi is excelling in other critical areas, such as healthcare and education. The city is home to 3,323 healthcare facilities, including 67 hospitals and over 1,000 pharmacies, supported by nearly 13,000 licensed doctors. These resources contribute to a robust healthcare system that is among the best in the world.
In education, Abu Dhabi continues to invest in its future with 459 schools offering diverse educational opportunities for the 2023-2024 academic year, ensuring that the next generation is as well-protected and well-educated as the current one.
While other Gulf cities like Kuwait City, Doha, and Bahrain are making strides, Abu Dhabi remains the benchmark for safety, stability, and world-class services. Dubai also ranks highly, coming in second for liveability and fifth globally for safety, but Abu Dhabi continues to shine as the UAE's leading city.
